GLASSBORO, N.J. – The No. RV/18 William Paterson women's basketball team (19-1, 13-0 NJAC) remained unbeaten in New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) action after claiming a 58-49 win at Rowan (12-8, 8-5 NJAC) Jan. 31.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Pioneers came out for the third quarter leading only by one (25-24). However, WP outscored Rowan, 19-8, in the frame to extend the advantage to double figures (44-32).
- The Profs pulled within three (50-47) with 3:26 left to play after opening the fourth quarter on a 15-6 run.
- A three by junior Mattison Chiera with 2:05 on the clock was the start of six unanswered points by the Pioneers before they closed the game out at the foul line to earn the 58-49 road win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Junior Jada Jacobs shot 5-of-8 (.625) from the floor for a 15-point outing to pair with seven rebounds.
- Senior Patty Walsh had 14 points, five rebounds and three blocks.
- Chiera logged 14 points and four boards.
- Senior Renee Wells chipped in with eight points, seven rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals.
- WP extended its win streak to nine.
- The Pioneers are ranked 18th in this week's Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Top 25 Poll and received votes in the D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll.

- William Paterson returns to the Sports and Recreation Center Wednesday, Feb. 4, for a 5:30 p.m. conference game against Rutgers-Newark.
