Women's Basketball falls short against Red Devils

EUREKA,IL- Blackburn College Women's Basketball falls short to the Eureka Red Devils in their Second St. Louis Intercolligate Athletic Conference Match-up against the Red Devils 61-50.

Freshman Kailynn Kruep led the Beavers in tonights match-up against the Red Devils putting up 18 points and 4 rebounds. Senior Elizabeth Morris put up another 9 points and 9 rebounds, Zoe Mitchell also grabbed 6 rebounds. 

The Beavers started off the game strong winning the first quarter 11-10. BC got started off with a layup from Elizabeth Morris, Kruep continues scoring for the Beavers putting up 4 points in a row for BC. The second quarter was just as good, BC won the second quarter 18-11, Kendadee Frey with a made three pointer to put the Beavers up 24-19 followed by a Becca Benoit made free throw, and 2 made shots by Kailynn Kruep. The Beavers went into halftime 29-21. Blackburn came out in the second half just as fired up as they were in the first. The Beavers were up 42-28 with a made three pointer from Kailynn Kruep and Miley Kwiatkowski, going into the fourth quarter 44-34. Unfortunatly the Beavers were not able to continue their run throughout the first quarter, the Red Devils took it home winning 61-50.

The Beavers go 2-8 overall and 0-4 in the SLIAC Conference. Their next match-up will be Sunday, December 17th at 3:00 PM versus Alverno College at Blackburn College.
