LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's basketball team did not trail in rolling to a win in the conference and home opener over visiting Marian University.

• Andrea Fuoss scored on the first possession of the game to put Benedictine ahead early
• The lead quickly reached 5-0 on a three-point play from Madisyn Fischer
• D'Asia Williams splashed home a three-pointer at the 6:39 marker of the opening quarter to push the lead to double figures at 14-3
• Allison Michalski connected on a jumper with 2:38 left in the first to give Benedictine the biggest lead of the quarter at 22-7
• Benedictine held a 24-11 lead after the first
• The lead grew to 22 points in the second quarter on a layup from Bennita Drain with 2:05 to play in the half
• Benedictine held a 38-20 halftime advantage
• Benedictine scored 25 points in the third including the final seven to extend the margin to 29 points at 63-34 on a layup from Roxanna Gaddis following a steal
• The hosts scored the first 11 points of the fourth quarter to open a 74-34 lead
• Everyone on the roster saw the floor in the first win of the season


• Benedictine shot 40 percent in the game but was outrebounded 49-46
• Benedictine knocked down nine three-pointers
• 16 individuals cracked the scoring column
• Venita Parsons and Williams each finished with 12 points
• Parsons added five assists as Benedictine totaled 17 on 32 field goals


Benedictine (1-1, 1-0 NACC) continues a busy stretch with a Monday non-conference game at home against Lake Forest College at 7:00 p.m.
