Led by a fast-paced offense the Brooklyn College Bulldogs outpaced the Bearcats, 67-45, in this evening's CUNYAC women's basketball contest before a raucous crowd in the Annual Battle of Lexington.
The sharp shooting of Veronica Ganzi, 21 points, and the defense of Lauren Smith, 14 rebounds, kept the score close for three quarters, but when the final buzzer echoed through the gym, the Bulldogs proved to be too much for Baruch.
Olivia Colbert's 18 points and 16 rebounds, led the Bulldogs in both categories. Taylor Gallagher added 15, and Twanda Holder collected 11 points for the victors.
At the end of 40 minutes, the Bearcats showed the fight and determination that has identified this group this season.
The Bearcats will next compete in the CUNYAC Championship Tournament on Friday with a first round 5 p.m. home contest against York College.
