ITHACA, NY—The Alfred University women's basketball team was beaten by the Ithaca Bombers, 82-43, in Empire 8 play Friday evening at Ben Light Gymnasium.
Sophomore forward Amanda Off (Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley) made her presence known on the boards in the first half grabbing seven rebounds while adding six points. Senior Harley Cleary (Rochester, NY/Our Lade of Mercy) put in two three-pointers, eight points total, to add to the Saxons campaign. At the half time buzzer the Saxons trailed the Bombers (13-3, E8 7-0) 44-22.
Off got back to work in the second period ripping down six more rebounds and adding 11 points to her total. Freshman guard McKaylee Croll (Perry, NY/Perry) produced six points for the Saxons while getting three rebounds. As time ran out, Ithaca College was on top 82-43.
Off led the Saxons with 17 points and 13 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. Maddi Flint (Caledonia, NY/Caledonia-Mumford) also had an impressive evening scrambling for nine rebounds and adding six points.
The Saxons return to action next Fri., January 30 at home against Hartwick College (4-13, E8 2-6).
