Kalamazoo's Nicole Antoine named MIAA Player of the Week

Kalamazoo College's Nicole Antoine was named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's women's basketball player of the week on Monday.

A senior from Lithonia, Ga. (Lithonia HS), Antoine averaged 17.5 points per game in leading the Hornets to their first 2-0 start in MIAA play in nine years. She scored 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field and added three blocked shots in a 79-57 win over Alma. She then added 15 points, six rebounds and three steals in leading the Hornets to a 56-50 win at Albion.

Antoine, who is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time this season and second time in her career, shot 62 percent from the field (15-of-24) for the week.

Kalamazoo returns to action at Brenau University (Ga.) on Saturday, Dec. 14.
