ASHLAND, VA – Randolph-Macon College Director of Athletics Jeff Burns announced Thursday the return of Ana Litton as the lead assistant coach for the Yellow Jackets' Women's Basketball program.

Litton, who was on Head Coach Carroll LaHaye's staff from 2002-2006, will spearhead all facets of the R-MC program, including recruiting, on court instruction and all other phases of the highly successful Division III program.

During Litton's first stint in Ashland, the Yellow Jackets fashioned a record of 98-23 with three ODAC Championships and three NCAA Division III Tournament appearances. In 2005, Litton helped R-MC to a 30-2 record, a perfect 20-0 mark in the ODAC and a run to the Division III National Championship game. Litton and the Yellow Jackets followed that up with an Elite Eight finish in 2006.

"We are fortunate to have the opportunity to have Coach Litton back on our staff, "said LaHaye. "She was a great part of our success during 2002-2006 and I am delighted it has worked out through her career to steer her back in the direction of the Yellow Jacket basketball program."

No stranger to the ODAC by any means, Litton racked up six years of coaching experience at Washington & Lee University, Shenandoah University and Paul VI High School prior to coming to R-MC in 2002.

Litton returns to the Commonwealth of Virginia after spending the last several years in Chicago. Litton capped her stay in the Midwest with a stop at North Park University where she served as an assistant coach from 2010-12, while pursuing her Master's Degree in Education.

"I am extremely excited to be returning to Randolph-Macon College and to the ODAC," said Litton. "The R-MC women's basketball program, Coach LaHaye, and the alumni have always held a special place in my heart. Walking back into Crenshaw Gymnasium feels like coming home and I can't wait to get started."

Litton, a 1994 graduate of Longwood College in Farmville, Virginia, was a four-year letter winner on the Longwood basketball and softball teams. She was named the Longwood College Freshmen Female Athlete of the Year in 1991 and was the back-to-back winner of the college's Female Athlete of the Year in 1993 and 1994. The all-time leading scorer with 1,615 career points for the women's basketball program at Longwood, Litton was named the team's Most Valuable Player in 1993 and 1994 and was the softball program's MVP in 1991.

While at Longwood, a NCAA Division II institution, Litton received honorable mention for various All-American teams as well as being named to the Virginia Sports Information Director's All-State first team in 1994.
