ALBION, Mich. – Albion College tuned up for the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Basketball Tournament with an impressive 69-45 win over Olivet College inside Kresge Gymnasium. The Britons finished the regular season 18-7 overall and in third place in the MIAA with a 12-4 record against league rivals. Next up for Albion is a Thursday date with Hope College in the MIAA Tournament.
Seniors Lisa Davignon, Nicole Dennis, and Patty Rewa and sophomore Brett de Bear all scored as Albion opened the second half on a 13-0 run to extend its 38-24 halftime lead to 51-24.
Rewa scored on 8-of-11 shots from the field as she collected 21 points for her eighth 20-point game of the season. She grabbed 13 rebounds to polish off her 12th double-double of the campaign.
Dennis contributed 17 points, scoring on 7-of-8 attempts from the free throw line.
SoQuitta DeShazor was the only Olivet player to score in double figures, finishing with 12 points.
