ALBION, Mich. – Albion College didn't have much trouble picking up its 10th win in a row Wednesday night. The Britons scored the first 10 points of the game and never looked back in scoring a 62-43 victory over Kalamazoo College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's basketball action inside Kresge Gymnasium.
Albion completed the first half of league play with a 6-2 record, but next up for the Britons are road tests against Hope College and Calvin College.
Lauren Epple and Patty Rewa combined to score the first 10 points. Anne Colonius sank a 3-point basket and Holly Cooperrider added an old-fashioned three-point play to trim the margin to four, but Albion answered with seven points to boost the lead to double-digits.
Albion held a 39-19 lead at halftime and it led by as many as 24 in the second half.
Epple knocked down 6-of-8 shots from the floor to finish with a career-high 16 points. Rewa and Nicole Dennis added 14 and 12, respectively.
