Freshman Hannah Lilly led four double-figure scorers with 17 points and the Emory women's basketball team won for the fifth time in six outings on Wednesday afternoon as it defeated Brescia University, 90-79.  The victory upped Emory's overall record to 7-4 while Brescia slipped to 10-5.

Lilly hit seven-of-12 field goal attempts, including three three-point field goals, en route to registering her sixth double-digit scoring performance of the campaign.  Sophomore Misha Jackson contributed 14 points, sinking seven-of-12 from the floor, and led all players with nine rebounds.  Freshman Savannah Morgan and sophomore Emily Hyncik rounded out squad's double-figure scorers with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Hyncik's  performance represented a season high as she was successful on five-of-six of her field goal attempts, including two-of-three from beyond the arc.

Emory shot 52.8 percent (38-of-72) from the floor, it second-highest showing of the year, while Brescia finished at 44.8 percent (30-of-67).  The Eagles also enjoyed a decided 43-41 advantage on the glass.

After falling behind by a 10-8 margin, Emory held the visiting Bearcats scoreless for over six minutes while busting out a 16-0 run to assume a 24-10 lead with 10:29 left in the opening stanza.  Emory still owned a 31-17 cushion before a 19-6 Brescia run sliced the Eagles' lead to 37-36 with 3:52 left.  However, Emory regrouped and closed out the half on an 11-5 spurt, with Hyncik scoring five points in that stretch, to take a 48-41 lead at halftime. 

Nursing a 51-47 advantage with 15:24 left in the game, Emory rattled off 10 unanswered points, seven from Hyncik and a triple by Lilly, to bolt out to a 61-47 margin. The Eagles would lead by double digits for the remainder of the contest, eventually building a 22-point bulge with 4:44 left. 

Emory returns to action on Saturday when it opens UAA play at the University of Rochester in a 2:00 p.m. start.
