CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Kingsmen went hunting, completing a season sweep of Pomona-Pitzer in a back-and-forth bout, 85-83, on Wednesday evening.

Cal Lutheran (15-3, 8-1) was lethal with the ball in its hands, shooting 59% (30-51) from the field and 52% (15-29) from three.

It was as back-and-forth a game as the Kingsmen have had all season, with 15 lead changes and six ties, both season highs.

Pomona-Pitzer (10-8, 4-5) led 31-18 with fewer than seven minutes to go in the half. The Kingsmen would answer in a big way, going on an 18-3 heater to take a 36-34 lead with under three to go. After a few more lead changes, the Kingsmen found themselves up one going into the half.

It was a similar story in the second half, but the Kingsmen were ultimately able to keep the Sagehens at bay, completing their sixth-straight win and their fifth-straight victory against Pomona-Pitzer, their longest head-to-head streak ever.

After a down game on Saturday, senior Devon Lewis was back on track, dropping 31 points on 56% shooting (9-16, 5-10 from three).

"We shoot a lot, so it's great to see those efforts pay off. As far as Devon, nobody was expecting a repeat performance from Saturday. We expected a solid bounce back," Head Coach Russell White said.

The Kingsmen are back in action, returning to Gilbert Arena to play Occidental at 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 1.
