The Fighting Scots men's basketball team claimed the 2011 Cavallo Classic Championship with an 89-73 win over tournament host Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri on Sunday evening.

Maryville College moved to 2-1 on the season with their second consecutive strong shooting night from the perimeter. Senior guard Rande Sibley went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc en route to a game-high 21 point performance. Milton Stanley added 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the floor. Ben Williamson and Donald Rucker each tallied 13 points and nine rebounds to produce game-highs on the boards.

The Scots held a 45-43 advantage at the half, but soon pulled away by out-rebounding the Gorloks while going 18-for-20 from the free-throw line. MC's defense held Webster to a 30% shooting effort in the second half while allowing only a pair of three-pointers.

Maryville will return home for Thanksgiving break and host Oglethorpe University and Emory University during the Maryville College Classic on the 26th and 27th.
