MADISON, N.J. (November 17, 2010) - Rosemont College shot nearly 52 percent from the floor including eight of 16 from beyond the arc to come out with its first win of the season, 86-77 over the Rangers. Asmar Capers (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) once again lead the way with a game-high 30 points.

Rosemont (1-0) led the Rangers for all 40 minutes of the game allowing the Rangers to come as close as two points once in the contest. The Ravens built a 17-point lead going into halftime and shot an even 50 percent from the field in the first half of play. 

Drew (1-1) who had the hot hand two nights ago against Berkeley struggled, putting only 30 points up in the first half while shooting only 36 percent from the floor. In the second half of play the Rangers offense began to click, starting with Capers who had 17 of his 30 in the second frame.

The Rangers would chip away at the 17-point deficit courtesy of some sharp shooting from the three-point line. At the 11 minute mark, Drew's Kyle Joyce (Hanover, Mass./Xaverian Brothers) would get the momentum swinging back in the home team's advantage after he drilled two three's cutting the lead down to seven. The Rangers would get the lead down to five on free throws by Capers with 10 minutes remaining in the game.

The Ravens responded with a pair of free throws and another basket with 8:15 to play to get the lead back to nine. The resilient Rangers would put together one last run when Terrell Brown (Camden, N.J./Woodrow Wilson) made consecutive layups followed by an easy bucket by Capers that brought the Rangers within two with 6:44 remaining.

Rosemont would close out the Rangers in the final five minutes of play highlighted by a breakaway dunk and pull up three pointer.

Brown was put together another solid effort, scoring 14 points, grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out four assists. Freshman Luke Glass (Rumson, N.J./Rumson-Fair Haven) added two threes and finished with eight points.

The Rangers will hit the road before the Thanksgiving holiday to take on Cabrini on Tuesday. The game is slated for 7:00 in Radnor, Pa.
