Washington U. made it a 2-0 weekend for the Bears and an 0-2 one for the Eagles as No. 2 Emory fell for the second time in three days, losing to No. 11 WashU 81-63.
WashU freshman Connor May had his first career double-double, as he scored a career-high 21 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. Hayden Doyle added 20 points for the Bears.

Doyle hit a pull-up three late in the first half to give the Bears a 36-33 lead at the break and WashU (14-2, 4-1 UAA) maintained either a one- or two-possession edge across the first eight-plus minutes of the second half before pulling out to a 51-44 lead with 11:15 remaining. Trailing by seven, Harris helped Emory pull within one at 54-53 with 8:43 to play as he personally scored nine straight points for the Eagles (13-3, 3-2).
Up four points, May had an offensive putback which started a 12-0 run for WashU, as the Bears held Emory scoreless for nearly five minutes. Grudzinski hit a pair of free throws and may put in back-to-back buckets. Doyle and senior Drake Kindsvater each added two free throws to put WashU ahead 71-55 with 2:00 remaining in regulation.
In less than a one-minute stretch, the Bears scored 10 consecutive points, all on free throws, to extend their lead to 23. The Eagles scored the final five points of the game, giving WashU the 18-point, 81-63 win.
