It took 39 meetings and 25 years, but they finally did it.

On Sunday, the Case Western Reserve women's basketball team shocked No. 7 Washington U. by a score of 72-68 to close out the Spartans' Throwback Weekend.

Dating to the first-ever meeting between the two schools during the 1987-88 season, the Spartans had dropped all 38 contests with the Bears.

Led by four players in double figures, the Rochester women defeated Brandeis 72-58. The win was the 600th in the history of the program (42 seasons). Senior Jackie Walker led UR (14-4, 6-1 UAA) with 18 points while Ally Zywicki had her first career double-double with 12 points and a career high 10 assists.

In Sunday's men's action, No. 2 Rochester staged an 11-4 rally in the closing minutes to pull out a 69-65 victory over No. 19 Brandeis. All-American guard John DiBartolomeo scored 36 points, 29 in the second half. He sank 19 of 19 free throws, breaking both the Palestra and Rochester single game records for successful free throws in one game.
