Fans will have the opportunity to select one player for each of the
two teams in the 2011 Reese’s Division III College All-Star
Game.
Voting will take place on the front page of D3hoops.com, starting at noon ET on Tuesday, March 1, and running through 2 p.m. ET on Thursday, March 3. Fans will be able to choose from a list with the top player in each region whose team is not selected for the NCAA Tournament.
Fans may cast one ballot to choose one player from among eight choices for the Division III East team. The two top vote-getters will be selected to play in the 2011 Reese’s Division III College All-Star Game, which will be held prior to the NCAA Division III men’s basketball national championship game at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va., on March 18.
The two players will be given spots on the All-Star team roster, along with two other seniors from each region and two seniors from teams eliminated in the national semifinals, for a total of 10 players per side.
“The Reese’s All-Star game is a terrific event for the caches, players and fans,” said Reggie Minton, NABC deputy executive director. “This online voting allows fans to be directly involved and adds to the excitement surrounding the event.”
“We’re excited to be able to offer this opportunity to Division III basketball fans,” said Pat Coleman, executive editor of D3hoops.com. “Interest in Division III basketball is never higher than the last week of February and the beginning of March, so we expect a great turnout in the fan balloting.”
