The La Roche community mourns the loss of men's basketball coach Scott Lang, who died suddenly on Friday, Dec. 10. Lang, 41, was in his 18th year at La Roche, his 14th as head coach.

Lang collapsed at the team's practice Friday evening, according to published reports, and officials told WPXI-11 that he suffered a heart attack.

La Roche president, Sister Candace Introcaso, said, "Tonight we have lost a great friend, a man of unwavering faith and a beloved role model and mentor to his team and so many of our students."

Lang holds the record for most wins and highest winning percentage in school history. He guided the Redhawks to the AMCC championship game in only his second season, and in 2004, the Redhawks won the first conference championship in the school's history. He has also led the Redhawks to two second place finishes in the regular season.

The Redhawks are 7-1 this season. Saturday's home game against Penn State-Behrend has been postponed.
