Baptist Bible has hired former WNBA player Amber Jacobs as assistant athletic director and women's basketball coach.
A three-year Division I assistant and former All-Big East performer as a player at Boston College, Jacobs replaces Matt Pollock, who coached the Defenders for three seasons, compiling a record of 26-46, including a 4-20 mark this past season, 1-14 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.
A native of Clarks Summit, Pa., where Baptist Bible is located, Jacobs played for Abington Heights high school and was the state's Miss Basketball. She played in the WNBA for five years (2004-08), most of which were with the Minnesota Lynx. Jacobs also served as an assistant coach for Toledo for two seasons (2004-06) and for Rhode Island this past season.
"I'm absolutely thrilled to be back and be a part of the BBC community," Jacobs said. "This is something that's been ongoing for a few months. God has been leading me through this process."
