Melissa Young-Kruse, Hamline's head women's basketball coach for the past six years, announced her resignation effective April 9.
During her tenure at the university, Kruse has taken the Pipers to three MIAC tournaments. Hamline went 72-77 over the past six seasons, with 13 wins each of the past five years.
Director of athletics Bob Beeman has announced that the university will begin an immediate national search to hire a replacement prior to the end of the academic year.
This position will potentially carry with it a senior woman administrator title, as outlined in the NCAA by-laws. "Our intention is to hire a seasoned on-court professional with prior administrative experience who has also taught in the health and physical education field," said Beeman.
