More than enough

It is probably not saintly to seek revenge, but No. 11 Thomas More will relish its victory over No. 18 Washington and Jefferson. The Saints defeated the Presidents 56-45 to split the season series after losing to them on the road last month.

Thomas More burst out to a 16-3 lead in the first half and never looked back. Jayme Thiem tallied 12 points and nine rebounds and Kristen Humphry scored 13 for the Saints. With a win against Chatham next Wednesday, the Saints will clinch first place and home court advantage in the Presidents� Athletic Conference playoffs.

No. 5 UW-Stevens Point dealt No. 7 UW-Eau Claire its first home loss, 64-57. The Pointers won two of three regular season games with the Blugolds, but took both that count in the conference standings. No. 17 Simpson clinched the regular season IIAC title by routing Central 105-66. Wednesday was pretty good for Stefanie Bunday whose 27 points moved St. Norbert closer to claiming hosting rights for the MWC tournament. The Green Knights defeated Ripon 64-48 for their 11th consecutive win.

&&g-boxr&&William Paterson moved into a tie for first in the NJAC North by stifling Rutgers-Newark, 45-34. The Pioneers share first with idle Montclair State and the two teams will meet to close the regular season a week from tonight. Springfield and Babson both won to make things even tighter at the top of the NEWMAC. Idle WPI is one game in front of the Pride and Beavers with two more teams just two back.

Lauren Forquer hit a layup with four seconds left to give Mount Union its only lead and the upset victory over Capital, 65-64. The Crusaders loss opened the door for red-hot Baldwin-Wallace to grab a share of first place in the OAC. The Yellow Jackets buzzed past Otterbein 73-63 for their 13th consecutive win.
