Pete Barry reached career win No. 400 and Meia Daniels got career point No. 2,000 on Saturday in NCAA Tournament second-round games.
Barry improved to 400-301 as Coast Guard won 50-47 at Mass-Dartmouth on Saturday to advance to the Sweet 16. He's 249-202 in 18 seasons at Coast Guard.
Daniels became the second American Southwest Conference women to reach the 2,000-point milestone in the past month, joining McMurry's Tarra Richardson and six other players at the milestone level this season. She finished with 27 to lead Howard Payne to the Sweet 16. Millikin's Lindsay Ippel hit 2,000 on the final day of her career, a March 1 loss to Illinois Wesleyan in the CCIW final.
On Sunday, the NCAA awarded men's sectional hosting to Hope, Plattsburgh State, Ursinus and Washington U. The women's sectionals will be hosted by Howard Payne, Kean, Messiah and UW-Whitewater.
